Our family would like to thank everyone at Willan House for making a real home for our Dad for the last two years of his life. We were lucky enough to find Willan House after looking at 14 care homes. As soon as we walked into the place we knew that this would make a perfect place for our Dad to live. We were right. John and Christine and their staff seek to provide a real home for their residents. Our dad had alzheimers and could be a challenge to care for but the team at Willan treated him with dignity and humour and we knew that he was happy there. I had to visit from 250 miles away and the team made me welcome, provided regular updates and photographs so that I was able to keep in touch with his life. Nothing was too much trouble and we as a family became very fond of both the staff and residents in Willan house. Regular activities, visits to the local pub and fantastic food enabled my Dad to lead a full life and so that when he became ill we knew he was in good hands. The end of life care everyone at Willan House provided was honest, caring, compassionate and knowledgable and made the difficult journey for us more bearable and enabled Dad to have a dignified and peaceful end. We are very grateful. A few weeks after the funeral a photo book arrived on my doorstep, a wonderful record of Dad’s time at Willan, photos of him smiling, dancing, playing games chatting with friends in the wonderful garden. What a wonderful present and keepsake and how thoughtful! When I describe the care that my Dad received at Willan house to friends who also have close relatives in care homes they are surprised at the personal and individual care that the staff at Willan house provide. We were very lucky to find this place, where staff go the extra mile to and who understand alzheimers so well. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your feedback and comments and thank you for sharing them on the website. We are glad you like the book, a small memento of his stay with us. Only this week we went to London to collect our award for care in final years. We acheived Commend status and are now accredited with the Gold Standards Framework for End of Life Care. It is a national award but we are one of two residential homes in Lincolnshire to be awarded it. You are assured a warm welcome at Willan any time you are around. Thank you again, Christine and John.
