We are registered to provide care for up to 20 residents including those with dementia diagnosis . We are confident in our ability to provide person centered dementia care. Residents needs are assessed constantly and we make every effort to continue to provide care up to and including end of life. We are one of 2 residential care homes in Lincolnshire with accreditation on the ‘Gold Standard Framework’. This is a national award and we acheived the Quality Hallmark Award ‘Commend’ with 11 standards marked as excellent by an independent accreditation panel.
We start with an assessment to ensure that the individual can be catered for in our home and then over the coming weeks and months we develop a care plan that meets their needs and also tries to maintain skills and abilities and enable them to settle into a care setting.
We can put you in touch with families who have experienced our care but you need to come and look around and meet staff and residents to appreciate the care we offer.
We are able to use the GPs in either Bardney or Wragby and can take residents to the surgery for appointments, or request the doctor visit Willan House.
We also have access to The Horncastle District Nursing Team to provide skilled nursing care when situations require it and they are readily contactable.
Respite care can be useful not only for the person who is elderly or frail, but also for the family and carers. Having a break away from each other allows you to recharge and gives opportunities for a change in surroundings. This can be so important when families are providing round the clock care.
We are currently operating a booked respite system on one room at Willan House. If we have empty rooms we will always consider short term stays, but our occupancy is consistently high you are always advised to ring and speak to us.
