The weather is warming and the housemartins are back on the house. The return of the house martins is always an important milestone in the calendar as we can now look forward to warmer days and lighter nights. I noticed this morning that they are repairing last years nest, which hangs above the windows at the front of the house. The residents have been out planting seeds for the raised beds. I know the beans are sprouting and growing so we will have fresh vegetables in a month or two.
Salads have been popular at lunchtime in the last few weeks, and Wendy and Lynne have been producing some delicious variations for tea. Both Wendy and Lynne have completed their qualification, as have care staff Nicola, Sammy and Gail. the compulsory maths and English component of the current apprenticeship was the least popular element of all, but they can all be commended for the effort they made to complete. Nicola’s assessor described her as ‘an amazing carer’
